Zief-Claire, 95, formerly of Chestnut Hill, died March 1, 2011. Her beloved husband, Eugene Zief, died in 2001.
She leaves behind two children, Ruth Silver of West Boylston, MA and Mark Zief of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren, Amy Silver and Scott Silver, both of New York City; three great-grandchildren, Judah Benjamin, James Gray Gaskell Gordon, and Billie Silver; two nieces, Thelma Caparell and Karen Endler; a grandniece, Jeri Barker and a grandnephew, Bruce Balter; and special friend, Lee Brezniak. She was predeceased by her four siblings, David Jacobs, Julia Cohen, Frank Jacobs, and Rose Jacobs.
She was an avid Mahjong player and worked for years in retail sales. Graveside services will be held at the Chai Odom Cemetery opposite 2676 Centre St
W Roxbury on Sunday March 6 at 11am. Remembrances in her memory may be made to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
