Our pre-arrangements are funded through Homesteaders Life Company or the New England Funeral Trust under the auspices of The Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association. If you have made pre-arrangements with Stanetsky – Levine Chapels and would like to transfer to Brezniak Funeral Directors you may do so at no penalty. Over 46% of all funeral services in Greater Boston are conducted at the graveside. These services are brief. Friends and family meet at the cemetery, usually one-half hour before the appointed service time. They often drive their own cars, thereby saving the cost of a limousine. (If the family wishes to use a limousine, this service can be arranged.) For graveside services, our staff supplies register books and programs for family and friends. During summer months, we also provide bottled water.
In Newton, we hold chapel services at The Wilson Chapel at 234 Herrick Road, Newton Centre. The chapel seats 125 people and will accommodate an additional 50 people standing. The parking lot can accommodate 100 cars.
In Sharon, we hold chapel services in the sanctuary of Temple Sinai, located just two minutes from Sharon Memorial Park. This contemporary sanctuary seats over 200 people and can easily be expanded to host 500. Chapel service is also available at the New Chapel on the grounds of Sharon Memorial Park— families have found this to be especially comforting during winter months. The Sharon Chapel can accommodate 80 seats with additional standing room for 50.
Brezniak Funeral Directors has partnered with several area temples and synagogues to allow services for non-members to take place at these beautiful and expansive facilities. The following temples are part of this program:
A memorial service can take place at a temple, chapel, academic setting, or home. The casket is not present at a memorial service. Brezniak Funeral Directors can provide staff to support these services.
Fewer than 18% of Jewish families choose cremation. However, if a family decides on cremation, the service may take place at a chapel, graveside, or reform temple. Locally, cremations are typically performed at St. Michaels Cemetery, Newton Cemetery, or Mount Auburn Cemetery. Burial of cremated remains is permitted at Sharon Memorial Park; The Independent Pride Cemetery on Baker Street in West Roxbury; and the Beit Olam East Cemetery in Wayland.
If a death occurs out of state, please call us at 1-800-554-2199. Brezniak Funeral Directors will contact the funeral representative in the city or town where the death has taken place, and help make transportation arrangements to Boston. While we can work with any out of state funeral representative, we have established relationships with funeral directors on both Florida coasts, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, and Long Island.
