Graveside Services ( The graveside service should last no more than 15 or twenty minutes)
Graveside services are held exclusively at the graveside. Friends and family meet at the cemetery, usually one half hour before the appointed service time. For example, at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon, Massachusetts, graveside services are scheduled on the three quarter hour (ex. 10:45, 11:45, etc.). The family, in many instances, drive their own cars, thereby saving the cost of a limousine. If the family wishes to use a limousine, this service can be arranged.
Over 46 per cent of all funeral services in the greater Boston area are conducted at the graveside. Families have told us that they have found the graveside service to be extremely beneficial in several ways. It eliminates the need for the funeral procession and should be brief.
The Brezniak Funeral Directors staff supply register books and programs for family and friends attending the service. During summer months, bottled water is supplied for the family and guests.
Our Chapel services are held in Newton at The Wilson Chapel at 234 Herrick Rd.Newton Centre, 02459. We can seat 75. 100. 175 people and standing room will accommodate an additional 50 people. The parking lot can accommodate 100 cars.
In Sharon, Brezniak Funeral Directors have the ability to have non-members of Temple Sinai use the sanctuary of this beautiful Temple located just two minutes from Sharon Memorial Park. This contemporary sanctuary seats over 200 people and can easily be expanded to 500. A chapel service is also available at the New Chapel on the grounds of Sharon Memorial Park families have found this to be especially comforting during winter months. The Sharon Chapel can accommodate 80 seats with standing room at 50.
Temple Partnership Program
Brezniak Funeral Directors has partnered with several area temples and synagogues to allow services for non-members to take place at these beautiful and expansive facilities. The following temples are part of this program.
- Temple Ohabei Shalom, Montague Chapel 1187 Beacon St., Brookline
- Temple Sinai, 25 Canton St. Sharon,MA
- Temple Beth Sholom, 50 Pamela Rd., Framingham
- Congregation Or Atid, Concord Rd., Wayland (Opposite Beit Olam East Cemetery).
A memorial service can take place at a temple, chapel, academic setting or home. The casket is not present at a memorial service. Brezniak-Rodman’s staff provides attendants at the chapel, temple, home or other facility.
Less than 18 percent of Jewish families choose cremation. However, if a family decides to have a cremation, a service may take place at a chapel, graveside or reform temple. The cremation is typically performed at a local crematory, such as St. Michaels Cemetery, Newton Cemetery or Mount Auburn. The burial of cremated remains is permitted at Sharon Memorial Park, The Independent Pride Cemetery, Baker St., West Roxbury, and the Beit Olam East Cemetery, Wayland.
