Anne L. Sandler

Anne Lillian Sandler, 89, of Las Vegas,NV, formerly of Newton, MA and Boynton Beach FL, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Anne was born September 9, 1924 in Glen Falls, NY to the late Hieman and the late Sarah (Berkowitz) Zimmerman. After raising her two sons, Anne went back to college and then worked as a controller for an oil company. She enjoyed playing and watching tennis and was an avid Celtics and Red Sox fan. Anne was a Life Member of Hadassah and a member of Temple Emanuel in Newton for more than 52 years. She is survived by her sons Jeffrey Sandler (Rabbi Shai Specht) of Las Vegas and Steven Sandler (Lisa) of Huntington Beach CA, and grandchildren Jason, Eric and Matthew. The funeral service and burial will be  at  Temple Emanuel of Newton Memorial Park in Randolph, MA (490 North St., Randolph, MA), on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 12 noon. The family will sit shiva in Las Vegas at Jeff and Shai’s home on Tuesday all day, with a minyan at 7 pm, and  Wednesday until sundown.
