of Needham, on August 28, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Maxwell N. Gordon. Devoted mother of Marjorie Gordon and her husband Patrick Wagner of Drexel Hill, PA and Andrew Gordon and his husband David Blocher of Redding, CT. Loving grandma of Alexandra and Julia Harrington. Dear sister of the late Doris Epstein and Fred Kaplan. A pianist in her earlier life, Mrs. Gordon was born in Fall River and resided there until moving to New York to attend the Juilliard School. She returned to Fall River after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and married her husband as soon as possible after his return from the war. She began giving music lessons in Needham, and later became an accomplished embroiderer and an active teaching member of the Bay Colony Society of Embroiderers in Chestnut Hill. Later in life she also developed a love of crosswords and fitness walks. Mrs. Gordon was an active member of the North Hill residential community in Needham where she spent her last years. She will be remembered for her warmth and graciousness to all who knew her. Services at the Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Rd., Newton Centre, on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:00 am. Remembrances in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s own choosing.
