Paul Alan Sorkin

Paul Alan Sorkin- of Newton, passed away peacefully at his home on October 27, 2014, surrounded by family members. Mr. Sorkin is survived by Sandra Zudick Sorkin, his loving wife for over 45 years. He was the proud father of David Sorkin and his wife, Eve, of Short Hills, NJ, and the adoring Papa of Michael, Amie, and Joseph Sorkin, who brought much joy to his life. Paul was the devoted brother of Linda Sorkin of Encinitas, CA, and the late Helen Brenner of Buffalo Grove, IL. He was the son of the late Rubin and Evelyn Sorkin. Paul grew up in Hull, MA, where he was a member of the first graduating class of Hull High School in 1960. He attended Brown University and Boston University, where he earned a degree in English Literature. He spent his professional years in the electrical industry, most notably as president of Electric Specialty & Supply Company in Boston, MA. Services at Temple Reyim, 1860 Washington Street, Newton, MA, on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:00am. Burial will be at Mount Freedom Hebrew Cemetery in Randolph, New Jersey on Thursday, October 30 at 10:30am. Shiva to be held Thursday until 8pm, Saturday 7-9pm, and Sunday 1-4 & 6-8pm at the home of David and Eve Sorkin in Short Hills, NJ, and will continue Monday  7-9pm and Tuesday  2-4 &  7-9pm at the home of the late Mr. Sorkin in Newton, MA.
