Leonard “Bud” Mordecai

Died April 26, 2015 at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice in Wayland, MA of complications from dementia and diabetes. Bud grew up in Haverhill, MA and met his wife Joan (Ostrows) in Boston. Bud and Joan raised their children, Mark and David, in Holliston, MA and later moved to Brookline. They were married for 53 years until her death in 2005. Bud’s son Mark and granddaughter Lily live in Irving , TX, and his son David, daughter-in-law Nicole and granddaughter Rachel live in Weston, MA. Bud is also survived by his sister Helene Mershon from Boynton Beach, FL. Services will take place at the Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick St Newton Centre, MA on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 12 noon. Following interment at the Hebrew Progressive Cemetery, 350 Grove St., West Roxbury, MA, memorial observance will be at the home of David and Nicole Mordecai in Weston, MA on Thursday and Friday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence, 10 Green Way, Wayland, MA 01778.
