Corey Leland Dinkin, 60, died unexpectedly on June 6, 2015 in Arlington, Massachusetts after fighting lung cancer. Born in East Meadow, NY on July 5, 1954, he was the son of the late Marilyn and Robert Dinkin. Later living in Lindenhurst, New York, he moved to Boston, living in Somerville and other areas, before settling in Arlington.
After attending NYU and other colleges, he worked in a variety of positions, including the Massachusetts Land Court, Massachusetts Jury System; most recently he was a paralegal, where he conducted corporate litigation research.
Corey was passionate about all types of music, from classical to jazz to the blues … as a collector, fan, and musician. And, composed his own eclectic compositions. In the 70’s, as an accomplished guitarist, he performed at well known NYC music clubs, including the Bitter End, and jammed with leading musicians of the period. He became a noted collector of the blues, amassing a substantial collection of recording and artifacts and was a lover of all things PBS.
In addition to his passion for music, Corey was an animal lover, especially cats and often took marathon walks/hikes. He also possessed a very sharp, wry sense of humor.
Corey was a person of exceptional intelligence, compassion and creativity, with specific expertise around health and well-being, always encouraging family and friends to improve their health. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother, Les.
