Daniel was born in Mexico City, where he spent his childhood.  He lived most of his life in New York City, though for several years during his retirement he resided in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Daniel had a deep love for the arts, influenced by his father, Francisco Dosamantes, a Mexican painter and lithographer.  His life’s passion was his profession as a talented stone sculptor and painter.  Daniel had many interests including traveling internationally and cross country, visiting museums, hiking, listening to classical music, reading poetry, following and discussing politics, gourmet cooking, and enjoying incredibly strong coffee.  He was an insightful, intelligent, and reflective man who will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

Memorial service to be held at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Daniel’s memory to the National Parkinson Foundation or the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
