Joan Moro, of Framingham, age 69, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2016 after bravely fighting chronic health issues for years.
She was the daughter of the late Dr. Walter Levy and Ilse (Kugelmann) Levy and was raised in Kingston, New York. She attended the Kingston public schools and graduated from Ulster County Community College where she majored in nursing and became a licensed RN.
She was an accomplished flutist and played in her high school band and orchestra. She enjoyed listening to classical music. She was very creative in home decorations, floral arrangements and other crafts projects. While her children were in elementary school, she volunteered as a librarian.
Throughout her illness, she always put on a brave face. She did a great job keeping life as normal as possible while raising her two children. She was an amazing mother who was always there for her kids in a loving and caring way. She enjoyed holidays with family and made each one special with her carefully prepared home cooked meals.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Steve, and their children, Amy and husband Brad Gaynor, and Russ and wife Jenn Moro. She was the adoring Grammy of Kayla and Ryan Moro and Jacoby and Mandi Gaynor. And she will be missed by her furry friend Mitzy.
Graveside services will be private. Memorial observance will be at her Framingham residence on Tuesday from 3-6 pm and Wednesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Dr #105, Danvers, MA 01923 or the charity of your choice.
