Mary-Ellen (Klein) Sokolowski

Of Newton, MA, on October 8, 2016. She was 68. Mary-Ellen was born in Spring Valley, NY on October 1, 1948. She graduated from Spring Valley High in 1967 and attended Suffolk University before earning her Real-Estate License. She prided herself on being a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling (especially cruising), was an avid reader, loved playing Mahjong, the music of Bruce Springsteen, and  spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Lillian Klein and brothers Harvey and Roger Klein. Mary-Ellen is survived by her husband, Mike Sokolowski, daughter Erin Lyons, sons Lee & Lev Sokolowski and granddaughter, Samantha Lyons. Funeral services will be held at The Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Rd., Newton, MA, on Thursday, October 13,2016 at 11:00 am.  Family and friends who are unable to attend the funeral are invited to pay their respects at the family home following the service until 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or Muscular Dystrophy Association (www.mda.org).
