Edith (Levin) Goldstein

Edith(Levin) Goldstein- December 28, 2016, in Newton, MA, at 97. Formerly of Buffalo, NY, Edith was the wife of the late Jacob Goldstein; mother of Marshall (Patricia Schofield) Goldstein, Beth (Ravi Sarathy) Goldstein, both of Newton, and Neil (Elizabeth Gibson) Goldstein of Belmont; grandmother of David and Alexandra Goldstein, Rahul, Leela (Dave Smith) and Meera (Doug Ely) Sarathy, Anna (Raphael) Moyer, Lily and Isabelle Goldstein; great-grandmother of Jada Lakshmi Smith. A graduate of SUNY-Buffalo State she worked as a teacher, a reading specialist, an Associate Professor and was author of several innovative adult literacy programs. She also served as an officer and board member and raised funds for various charities and social causes. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Southern Poverty Law Center are welcome.
