Rita D. Ekhaus

Rita D. Ekhaus passed away peacefully on June 16th at 94 years of age.  Born in New York City, Rita was the loving daughter of Charles and Lilly Iselin and the loving sister of Francis Holtzman.  She is survived by her three children, Ira Ekhaus (Denise), Michael Ekhaus, and David Ekhaus (Ruth).

Rita began her career as a nurse in 1947 and progressed to a Nurse Anesthetist and Hospital Administrator before she retired 47 years later.  She was especially proud of her contributions to the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation and to the broader community it served. 

Rita was the much beloved grandmother of Charlie, Ana, Pebble, and Ben.
