James Robert Giesser, age 64, of Boston, MA, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 7, 2023. Son of the late Richard Giesser and R. Constance (Silverman) Giesser. Loving brother of Eric Giesser (wife Janet Giesser) and John Giesser (wife Erin Coyle Giesser). Cherished uncle of nieces Ella and Hadley and nephews Ben, Aidan and Neil.
Jim overcame a childhood injury to have rich experiences and share love and laughter with family and friends. With strength and courage, Jim fought through challenges and lived his best life. A graduate of Buckingham Brown and Nichols and Dartmouth College, Jim performed in school musicals, spoke Russian, read and debated literature, traveled, played guitar, skied, and ran cross country. He was a Boy Scout and a Deadhead. He was an outdoor enthusiast who hiked the White Mountains and Yosemite’s Half Dome. Most of all, he had a wonderful smile and sense of humor. Jim’s family and friends will hear the echoes of his laughter always.
The family is forever grateful to Jim’s angel, Doreen Bentley, and the loving team on 4Burger.
Graveside services will be private. The family will be receiving friends at the home of Eric and Janet Giesser on Sunday, September 10 from 1:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Hebrew SeniorLife (hebrewseniorlife.org/TributeGift), where an extraordinary team protected, and occasionally danced with, Jim.
