of Sudbury, MA, formerly of Penfield NY, died peacefully on March 6, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Dorian Kermisch and leaves behind her son Ron and his wife Alison, daughter Sharon and her husband Randall Martens, grandchildren Benjamin Kermisch and Lena Martens. Nira was born in Jerusalem and earned her law degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was admitted to the Israeli Bar in 1958. She became a US citizen in 1972 and was admitted to the New York State Bar shortly after. Nira was appointed the first female attorney for the County of Monroe in New York State in 1975. After working for the County for more than a decade, she opened her own civil law practice where she fought for justice for her clients. Nira loved her family fiercely, doted on her pets and enjoyed experiencing the world through travel, food, museums and music. Memorial contributions can be made to MSPCA-Angell Fund or Household Goods. Private services will be held.
