Sonia Zimmerman

Zimmerman-Sonia “Sunny” (Marcus), 72, of Foxboro, on November 5, 2011. She was born to the late Samuel and Grace Marcus in Boston, MA. She was the beloved daughter in law of the late Ida and Harry Zimmerman. She graduated Brookline High School and later attended Perry Normal School, before becoming a kindergarten teacher. She married William Zimmerman in 1961 and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They lived in Randolph before relocating to Foxboro in 2006.

Sunny was a kindergarten teacher before spending many years working in the family business, Town Line Card and Gift Shop in Canton.

She is survived by her husband William of Foxboro;  two children, Laura Bascom of Franklin and David Zimmerman of Revere; son in law Dave Bascom and Daughter in law Kristine Wickham Zimmerman; sisters Ruth Abbott and her husband Robert Abbott, Harriet Gardner and her husband Richard Gardner; Brother, Richard Marcus and his wife Mitzi Marcus; sister in law of Helaine Zimmerman and Thalia Verros. She is the beloved grammy of Andrew and Matt Bascom and Grace and Jack Zimmerman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Sunny and Bill enjoyed travel and spent many happy vacations together . They were husband and wife and best friends.

Services will be at Temple Beth AM 871 N. Main St., Randolph on Tuesday, November 8th at 11:00 AM interment  will be at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon.

Memorial observance will be at the home of Laura and Dave Bascom in Franklin on Tuesday until 9 PM and continuing Wednesday and Thursday 1-4, and 6-9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445 or to a charity of your choice.
