Michael A. Linshaw, 70, died at home surrounded by his family on December 31, 2010. In a long and distinguished medical career, he made significant contributions in the field of Pediatric Nephrology as a clinician, teacher, and scientist, improving the lives of many children and their families, mentoring numerous young doctors, and conducting research that influenced the standard of care. He joined the faculty at the University of Kansas in 1975, working subsequently at the University of Connecticut, Tufts University, and for the past ten years at Harvard Medical School and MGH. He was a skilled classical pianist, chess player, bird watcher, and nature photographer. Beloved son of the late Charles and Emily Linshaw, he was predeceased by a brother, Jack and is survived by his loving wife Diane and three sons, Charles, Andrew and David. Memorial service to be held at 1pm, Wednesday January 5, 2011 in the chapel at Massachusetts General Hospital, Ellison Building , ( First Floor ), 55 Fruit St. Boston .Visiting hours at home on Wednesday from 3-5pm and Thursday from 2-5pm with a Minyan service at 5pm on both days.
