Lurie, Rochelle (Silver), a 40-year resident of Weston, MA, raised in West Hartford, CT, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 after a sudden and courageous battle with Ampullary Cancer. She loved her children, friends and extended family with all her heart. Devoted mother to Joelle, Mark, Charles, and Nathanial Lurie. Loving sister of Andrea Hotes. Dear aunt of Gennifer Lippman & Todd Hotes. A graduate of Vassar College ‘71, Rochelle spent her junior year studying in France and later earned her Masters from Harvard in 1976. Over 20 years, she built a widely respected private practice which counselled generations of high school students through the college admissions process. Most of all, Rochelle loved spending time with her four children; they surrounded her throughout her final months. She was a member of Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, MA, Services will be held at Temple Beth Elohim, 10 Bethel Rd., Wellesley, MA on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11 am. Following interment at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Rd., Wayland, MA, shiva will be held at the Lurie residence until sundown on Friday as well as Saturday and Sunday 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Marsha L. Steinberg- 73, passed away peacefully December 20, 2019. Born in Newton, MA. Beloved daughter of Beryl and Saul Steinberg. She leaves a brother, niece and nephew, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Marsha was adored by a wide group of friends, all of whom have “Marsha Stories”. She was like no one else. Graveside service at Sharon Memorial Park,40 Dedham St., Sharon, MA, on Monday, December 23,2019 at 12:45pm(please assemble behind the administration building).Following the service friends are invited to a memorial lunch at Mandarin Taste, 37 Pond St., Sharon, MA from 1:30-3:30pm. Geller, Roslyn (Santer), of Newton, MA, and Framingham, MA, passed away on December 13, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Albert A. Geller. Louis M. Sandman, 82, son of the late Eli and Dora Sandman passed away in Boston on December 12, 2019. Louis grew up in Worcester and lived in Framingham from 1966 to 2018.  Louis was autistic, which was not recognized or treated during his childhood.  He graduated from Classical High School in Worcester and Clark University, where he majored in history.  In his 50s, he returned to college and earned a degree in computer science from Framingham State College and subsequently worked as a programmer, an occupation in which he found comfort. Louis was an amateur astronomer and photographer.  He leaves his wife of 55 years, Joan (Rosenstein) Sandman, his children Ellen and Steven Sandman, and a brother, Michael A. Sandman.  Shiva will be at the home of Michael Sandman on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 3-5 pm.

Hurwitz, Stephen J., of Brookline, on Dec. 10, 2019. Loving brother of Michael and his wife Nancy of Needham, Dr. Alfred and his wife Marjorie of CA, and Julie Seelig and her husband Michael of Vancouver.  Also survived by several devoted nieces and nephews. Kogos- Arthur, of Worcester, MA, formerly of Boston, MA, and Las Vegas, NV, on December 9, 2019. Beloved husband of Patricia (Harding) Kogos. Devoted father of Scott Samuel Kogos and his wife, Jaime Lynn. Proud grandfather of Eliza Rose Kogos. He worked at the Atomic Energy Comission in the Aleution Islands in Alaska. He worked for Southwest Gas Co. in Las Vegas for 15 years. In retirement he worked for the Worcester Public Library, and as a Crossing Guard in FL, often known as “Mr. Stop”. He liked the music of the 40’s and 50’s, reading, and traveled to Hawaii many times with his beloved Pat. He loved to cook which he was very good at.He had such a love for his son Scott and his daughter-in-law Jaime.His granddaughter Eliza was the light and the love of his life. Mark Goldstein of Grafton, MA passed away on December 8, 2019.  Graveside service on December  9, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Rd./Route 126, Wayland, MA.  A shiva memorial will be held Tuesday, December 10 from 3 – 6 pm at First Parish of Waltham, 50 Church St., Waltham, MA.  Mark will be missed for his humor, his music, and his kind loving soul.
