Leonard T. Chase

WORCESTER – Leonard T. Chase, 86, of North Palm Beach, FL and a summer resident of Westerly, RI, formerly of West Hartford and Worcester, son of Samuel H. and Bessie Chase, of blessed memory, passed away on July 13 after a short illness.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol. G. (Appelbaum) Chase; his daughters, Jill B. Chase of North Palm Beach and Sherry A. (Ben Fitt) Chase of Buffalo, NY; his grandchildren, Miriam F. Chase-Conant, Ariel M. Chase-Conant and Joshua L. Fitt, as well as many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
A FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 2PM, TODAY, SUNDAY, JULY 14TH IN TEMPLE SINAI, 661 SALISBURY ST., WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF BREZNIAK RODMAN FUNERAL HOME OF NEWTON. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester.
Memorial Observance will be held at 14 Kenilworth Rd., Worcester Through this evening and 10AM to 2PM on Monday, July 15th.

Marcia J. Head

Head, Marcia 2WORCESTER – Marcia J. Zabarsky Head passed away Wednesday, July 10th, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her son, Jeffrey M. Head and his wife Erika of Holden; a daughter, Kimberly McGhee and her husband Richard of Paxton; a daughter, Melissa A. O’Brien and her husband Timothy of Holden and a son, Joshua B. Head and his wife Emily of Holden. She also leaves fourteen beloved grandchildren: Abigail, Charlotte and William Head; Maxwell, Madison, Sydney, and Kassidy McGhee; Morgan, Jack, Delaney and Shaye O’Brien; and Kaylee, Jacob and Isabel Head. Marcia was predeceased by her parents, Edith and Irving Zabarsky and her brother Robert.
Marcia was born and raised in Worcester. She was the owner and operator of ReMax Advantage I Real Estate, establishing the company in 1997. Marcia was an active member of the real estate community for over forty years. She was a member of the Greater Worcester Board of Realtors and a past member of the Women’s Council of Realtors. Prior to her real estate career Marcia was a respiratory therapist in Worcester.
Marcia’s greatest joy was spending time and sharing laughs with her children, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed her weekends entertaining family and friends at her lake house. She loved walking one of her favorite companions, her dog, Kramer. She was an avid reader, cook and crossword enthusiast.
It is at Marcia’s request that the funeral service be private. Those who would like to extend their sympathies to the family are invited to a reception at The Seasons at Salisbury Clubhouse, Seasons Drive, Holden, MA. Sunday, July 14, between the hours of 1-5 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Evelyn (Evy) Rosenblum

Evelyn (Evy) Rosenblum, 85, beloved wife of Louis Rosenblum, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013.  The daughter of Mae Landy Mull and Sam Mull, she was born in Cleveland, OH in 1928.  She obtained a BA in education at the Ohio State University.
Evy, the school founder and Director of Education for more than 40 years at Beth Israel – The West Temple in Cleveland, OH, received awards for her curricula development used citywide.  During the 1960’s and 1970’s she pioneered educational programs about Jews and Judaism to churches and Christian schools in northern Ohio. For more than 25 years she volunteered as an archival processor at the Western Reserve Historical Society.  She enriched her life and other’s through her love of birding, cultivating flowers, folk dancing, and hiking.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, she is survived by her four children, Jan, Miriam and husband Sheldon Benjamin, Diane and husband Henry Gordon, and Daniel and wife Sharon Waxman; eight grandchildren, Samara, Elana, Paul, Malka, Rafi, Maya, Jonah, and Liana; two great grandchildren, Nia and Azalea; and sister, Barbara Mull.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 14, at 1:00 p.m., at the chapel at Norumbega Point, 99 Norumbega Road, Weston.  Shiva in Boston will be observed on Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the home of Miriam Rosenblum and Sheldon Benjamin, 141 Waban Hill Road North in Chestnut Hill.

Benjamin Oriel- age 96, of Newton, on July 9, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband for 73 years of the late Beatrice (Rosenthal) Oriel. Devoted father of Iris Clickstein and her husband Barry, Cheryl Ross and her husband Warren, Robert “Ricky” Oriel and his wife Judy and the late Marvin Oriel. Dear grandfather of Kim Mulkern and her husband Joe, Gregg Clickstein, Alex Ross, Kati Ross, Dr. Brad Oriel, and Amanda Oriel. Cherished great grandfather of Zachary, Samantha, and Sydney Mulkern, and Tessa and Joshua Clickstein. Devoted brother of the late Samuel Oriel and his wife Celia, Jeanne Silver and her husband Harry and Edward Oriel and his wife Edith. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews and his loving caregiver Lia. Graveside services at Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury, on Thursday July 11, 2013 at 11:00 am. Following interment, family and friends are invited to the function room at Nahanton Woods, 210 Nahanton St., Newton until 4:30 pm. Memorial observance will continue at the home of Robert and Judy Oriel on Thursday 7-9 pm, Friday 1-5 pm and Saturday evening 7-9 pm.
