Barbara Popper

Popper- Barbara (Krouner), of Needham, age 70, on November 3, 2013, following a very courageous battle with Lung Cancer. Beloved wife of Steven Popper. Devoted mother of Jeffrey Popper of Medfield, Nancy Popper of Cambridge, Lee Popper of Needham and Sarah Popper of Arlington. Dear grandmother of Milo, Harry, William, Isaac, Brandon, Jasper, Anna, Sofia and Leo. Loving sister of Betsy Krouner of NY,NY and Susan Sclafani of Washinton, DC. Services at Temple Beth Shalom, 670 Highland Avenue, Needham, on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 10:00 am. Following interment at Baker Street, West Roxbury, memorial observance will be at the home of Lee Popper until 4 pm and 6-8 pm. Memorial observance will continue Thursday 1-4, 6-8 pm & Friday 1-4 pm.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Federation for Children with Special Needs, 529 Main Street, Suite 1M3, Boston, MA 02129. In 1971, Barbara founded Children in Hospitals, a non profit organization that advocated for the rights of parents with hospitalized children. She continued this work as a Project Director for The Federation for Children with Special Needs.
