EDWARD S. COHEN-of Newton, MA and Lake Worth, FL, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on June 13, 2017 after a brief illness. Beloved husband of Sandra (Glassman) Cohen for over 50 years. Devoted father of Elizabeth Goldstein and her husband Steven, David Cohen and his wife Lisa, and Jeffrey Cohen and his wife Justine. Cherished Papa of Jordan, Emily, Rachel, Daniel, Joseph, Samuel, Grace, Charles and Jack. Ed grew up in Dorchester, MA and attended Boston Technical High School and Northeastern University. Services at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward Street, Newton, MA, on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 2:30 pm. Following interment at Temple Emeth Memorial Park, Baker St., West Roxbury, Shiva will be at Imperial Towers, 280 Boylston St., Chestnut Hill until 8:00 pm. Shiva will continue at the home of Liz & Steve Goldstein on Friday 2-4:00 pm and Sunday 2-4:00 & 7-9:00 pm. Remembrances may be made to Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward St., Newton, MA 02459. Ed was widely adored and admired for his devotion to family, gentle nature, and kindness to others.
