Edward Goldberg

Goldberg-Edward, of Braintree MA, formerly of Waterville ME, passed away on February 3, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Gloria (Liberty) Goldberg. Devoted father of Rhonda, Steven and his wife Beth, Marilyn Brabants and her husband John, and the late Scott Goldberg. Proud grandfather of Joshua, Sarah, and Benjamin Daniels. Blessed great grandfather of Julia Ferry and Samuel Daniels. Loving brother of the late Geraldine Bloom, Loretta Liber, and Maurice Goldberg. Edward was a 1942 graduate of Waterville high school, where he lettered in football, basketball, and track. He was a 1950 graduate of U. Maine Orono. Ed was in the army air corps, proudly serving from 1943 through 1946 both in Japan and the Philippines. Ed later moved back to MA, to be near his children. He moved into Sunrise Assisted Living, in Braintree, MA where found a new loving family surrounding him. Ed was known as the “mayor” of sunrise and cherished by all whose lives he touched. Services at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 12:00 noon.  Donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
