Etta (Liber) Trehub, on February 20, 2019, at the age of 97. Most recently of Northboro, formerly of Framingham. Beloved wife of the late Irving Trehub. Adoring and adored mother of Ann Trehub and Carol (Trehub) Shapiro and her husband Daniel Shapiro. Dear daughter of the late Haskell and Rose (Nitkin) Liber. Survived by sisters-in-law Etta Liber and Bertha Trehub, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other dear family members. Loving sister of the late Hyman (Hy) Liber and Abraham (Ubby) Liber and his wife Loretta, and in-laws George and Harriet Trehub, Emma (Trehub) Karlin, and Frances Trehub.
Etta grew up in Boston, went to Dorchester High School for Girls, and married Irving in 1942. After he returned from WWII in 1945, they lived and raised their family in Mattapan. Etta and Irving shared a loving and devoted marriage for 40 years. After his untimely death at age 63, she worked as a secretary in the financial field until her retirement – when she could devote more time to reading, needlework, crossword puzzles, and Judge Judy.
Etta was a wonderful mother, who made a warm and loving home for her daughters and instilled in them her values as well as her love of reading.
She most enjoyed her time with her daughters, especially on their vacations to Cape Cod, California, Bermuda, and many other excellent adventures. She was loved by all who knew her, was known for her ability to make friends anywhere, and will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Boundless gratitude to everyone at Coleman House for the extraordinary caring and compassion they extended to Etta and her family.
