GEORGE OSHRY

George of Weston, formerly of Brookline on June 6, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Miriam (Mason) Oshry for 68 years. Devoted father of Jeanne and Jerry Ashworth of Cape Neddick, ME, Richard Oshry of Brighton, and Deborah and Howard Herzog of Belmont. Loving grandfather of Jeffrey and Robert Ashworth, and Annie, Emily, and Kate Herzog. Cherished great-grandfather of Benjamin, Esme, Taylor, and Riley. Loving brother of Sally Adelson and the late Harold Oshry. George Was by all accounts, a man of integrity and often referred to as “a real gentleman” He graduated Harvard University class of 1938 where he also went on to receive a master’s degree in metallurgy. During World War II he worked at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland where one of his jobs was x-raying defective ammunition. He was the president of General Metals Company. George enjoyed many summers with his family in Ogunquit, ME. He was a lifelong and active member of Temple Ohabei Shalom. Graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 11:45 am, followed by a celebration of his life at Norumbega Point Assisted Living in Weston. Observance will continue at the home of Deborah and Howard Herzog on Monday from 7-9 pm and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
