Gerald “Jerry” Gartz, of Framingham, passed away on April 27, 2018 after a long illness. He was 71 years old. He was the beloved husband of Susan M. (Silver) Gartz for 50 years.
Born in Boston, the son of the late Nathan and Gertrude (Crystal) Gartz, Jerry was raised in Dorchester, graduated from English High School, and attended Suffolk University. A resident of Framingham since 1969, he was the owner of Jerry’s Catering and his canteen truck was well known. Jerry enjoyed golf, music, animals, vacationing, and trying his luck at the craps and poker tables.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his son Jamie and his wife Liz; daughter Melissa; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Ryan, and Matthew; his brother Bobby Gartz; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at Temple Beth Sholom, 50 Pamela Rd., Framingham. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Assoc., 912 Killian Hill Rd., S.W., Lilburn, GA, 30047.
