Gertrude Naomi (Shore) Pearlman, 66, passed away surrounded by her family at her home in Framingham, MA. Trudy, as she is known to her family and friends, had endured a long battle with cancer for more than fifteen years.
Trudy graduated from Boston University in 1967 with a degree in teaching and was an educator for most of her life. She first started working with young children in the Newton, MA public school system and then in the early 1970s, after losing 70 lbs. on their program, became a lecturer/trainer for Weight Watchers. Sharing her own inspiring story while listening to others in need, Trudy worked her way up to become the regional manager, motivating thousands of Weight Watchers members to achieve their personal goals.
Trudy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edward Neil Pearlman; her children, Andrea Sharon Pearlman Lindsey and Louis Ira Pearlman; her niece, Rebecca Ruth Stark and her grandchildren, Tyler Reed and Kendall Alyse Lindsey. She will be remembered with love by the Drevitch and Pearlman families, as well as a legion of friends from her neighborhood and Weight Watchers, whom she regarded as family.
She had been a longtime and active member of Temple Beth Sholom at 50 Pamela Road in Framingham, MA. Funeral services will be held there on Tuesday, October 4th, 2011 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers; the family asks that a tree be planted in Israel through the Jewish National Fund or a donation be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Center for Sarcoma and Bone Oncology in her honor. Arrangements by Brezniak-Rodman Chapel, Newton.
