Gloria Crane Weller of Canton, MA, formerly of Newton, MA, died peacefully with her family by her bedside on January 2, 2023, at 88. Beloved wife of the late Robert Weller for 63 years. Loving mother of Daniel Weller and his wife Lisa of Westwood, MA, and Linda Weller Gulman and her husband Max of Newton, MA. Proud grandmother of Jessica Miller and her husband Adam Miller, Paige Gulman, and Sophie Weller. Dear daughter of the late Jack and Sophie Crane, and sister of Paula Lunder and brother-in-law Peter Lunder. Gloria was adored by her nieces and nephews and loved by all.

Born in Chicago, IL, Gloria attended the Art Institute of Chicago, fulfilling her passion for painting, and finding beauty in all. She aimed to tell stories through each brush stroke, from oil painting to sculpting. One of her sculptures of the late mayor Theodore Mann can still be found in Newton City Hall. Out of art school, Gloria moved to Boston and was hired by Filenes to draw and paint fashion trends before fashion photography became the industry standard.

Gloria and her late husband, Bobby shared a love of golf, skiing, and bridge. As a young mother, she enjoyed figure skating at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline, MA, and throughout her life, she had a passion for crossword puzzles, sudokus, and word jumbles. Gloria will be remembered as a warm, caring, and compassionate woman, always showing love and gratitude, even in her final days. She enjoyed her travels through Europe and Israel and 19 years at her winter residence in West Palm Beach, FL. A funeral service will be held at Temple Beth David, Westwood, on Thursday, at 11 a.m. and will be available via live stream at Templebethdavid.net|//livestream.html or at the top of the obituary on this page, followed by interment at Sharon Memorial Park.
