Harriet (Shanker) Walter

Harriet (Shanker) Walter, 79, of Lake Worth, FL, formerly of Sharon, MA, passed away on April 25, 2021. Harriet was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph, whom she met when they were in elementary school. She valued her family, community, and her Jewish faith. She was a leader of many organizations including Hadassah, Temple Israel of Sharon, and Brandeis Women. In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by her sister Carol Needleman of Newport, VT, and her children Richard and Risa Walter of Atlanta, GA, and Bradley and Alison Walter of Providence, RI. She is predeceased by her oldest son Barry Walter who passed away in 2011 and her beloved parents Bob and Rose Shanker. Her greatest joy was her seven grandchildren: Andrew, Rose, Forrest, Rene, Mira, Ivy and Bentzi Walter, who loved spending time with their Bubbie.
