HERMAN B. BALKAN

Balkan-Herman B. of West Roxbury, on March 30, 2009. Son of the late Sadie and Max Balkan. He was born in Dorchester, with his beloved twin sister, Celia Cohen who passed away at the age of 59. He was a graduate of Northeastern University. Herman was a loyal hard working family man. Beloved husband of Arleen (Charnitsky) of 50 years. He worked for Ratheon Corp. as an accountant for 35 years and part time at the Boston Globe. Over the years he was an avid numismatist and philatelist who was affiliated with many such organizations in the Boston area. He was a natural at languages and enjoyed speaking Spanish as well as public speaking for the Toastmasters Club. Besides his wife, Arleen he leaves his daughters, Janet Weinstein and her husband Glenn of Weston and Sharon Yogel and her husband David of Weston; his grandchildren, Robin, Gordon, Jodie Weinstein and Ross and Jenna Yogel. Graveside services at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon on Wednesday, April 1 at 11:45 am. Following the service family and friends are invited to the home of Sharon and David Yogel through Wednesday evening only. Remembrances may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O.
