Devoted father of Harvey Abel & his wife Robin, Robert Abel & his wife Diane, Stephen Abel & his partner Franco Bertacci, Cheryl Abel, and Richard Abel. Dear grandfather of Brian, Scott, Wyatt, Kelsey, Jensen, & Riley and great-grandfather of Alexandria, Bradley, & Carter. Also survived by his step-children, Karen Baseman & her partner Deanna Arden, Elise Chadwick & her husband Michael, and Susan Cogdell & her husband John, step-grandchildren, Max, Benjamin, Samantha, Joshua, Jin, & Zulfiya, and step-great-granddaughter, Sally. Brother of Roz Shavel. Services at Maple Hill Cemetery, Sabino Fard Rd., Peabody, Monday, May 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
