Lawrence Schneider

age 76, of Needham, formerly of Boston and New York, died on August 26 after a long struggle with Lewy body dementia. Larry and his cherished wife, Lois Ambash, shared an unending romance. Larry was the beloved father of Deborah Currie and husband James; Adam Schneider and wife Catherine; Douglas Bush and wife Carrie; and Julie Bush. He was the devoted grandfather of Jackson, Allie, Ella, Bennett and Laura Flynn; loving son of the late Edith and Murray Schneider; and dear brother of the late Gail Jaffe. He also leaves brothers-in-law Joseph Ambash and Michael Jaffe; nephews Justin and Eric Jaffe; aunt Bella Roberts; and several cousins. Larry earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Brooklyn College. After serving in the US Navy, he was a teacher and later an antiques dealer. Larry loved cooking, restaurants, politics, history, the arts, the Islanders, Bob Marley, Mozart, and all things NYC. Service Sunday August 30, 1pm, Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Rd., Newton Center, MA. Visiting at the home of Douglas and Carrie Bush following the service and again Monday, 1-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Larry’s life will take place in New York at a later date.
