Morris I. “Duke” Goldberg- of Needham, formerly of Newton, on September 22, 2015. Beloved husband of Pearl (Grossman) Goldberg. Devoted father of William L. Goldberg and his late wife Debralee, Wendy Fay Goldberg and her husband Jerry White, and David R. Goldberg and his wife Barbara. Dear grandfather of Jeffrey Goldberg, Benjamin Goldberg and his wife Kate, Harrison Goldberg, and Stefanie Goldberg. Devoted brother of Shirley J. Fenton. Duke grew up in North Quincy and graduated from Boston University School of Management. He proudly served in the Navy during WW11 in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, participating in the Battle of Okinawa on the USS Panamint Admiral’s staff. He held 8 US patents. For many years he was a director of Home Owners Federal Savings and Loan Assoc. in Boston. Duke was an enthusiastic golfer at Pine Brook Country Club in Weston, serving on the Board of Governors for many years, and had the distinction of having a hole-in-one at the age of 81. Service at Temple Shalom, 175 Temple St., West Newton, on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Memorial observance to be announced at service. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
