Nikolaus R. “Klaus” Pichler, of Framingham, passed away on June 30, 2014 at the U-Mass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He was 79 years old.
Born in Klagenfurt, Austria, he was the son of the late Richard and Elisabeth (Madile) Pichler. Klaus was raised and educated in Austria. He began his career in electrical engineering after attending college and was recruited by the Digital Equipment Corporation to come to America in 1971 to integrate the keyboard and cathode ray tube (CRT) systems. Klaus was an avid golfer and member of the Holden Country Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Susan (Feldman) Copeland; his sister, Lorli Daum; and his 2 brothers, Christoph and Peter Pichler.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove St., Framingham. Memorial observance will be held at his late residence through Thursday afternoon.
