Nita Beverly Rosenblum Boyer

nitaNita Beverly Rosenblum Boyer passed from this world to join the one and only love of her life, Burton Boyer, on September 29, 2015. She was raised in Hull, Massachusetts and lived most of her adult life in Chestnut Hill, with her family. Nita spent the last four and a half years living in California with her daughter, Lisa, where she enjoyed the sun in the state’s Gold Country, a fitting place for one whose life was truly golden. She was preceded in passing by her beloved Burt, and her parents, Isadore and Edith Rosenblum. With an observant eye that didn’t miss much and a passion for life, Nita’s tender and generous heart gave her an appreciation of all things great and small. She touched those who knew her through her unique love of life, wry sense of humor and her beautiful smile. The sparkle in her eye brought joy to those around her.  She was an amazing artist and truly embraced all of the beauty in the world around her. The ocean was in her blood and Nita and Burt spent many hours boating throughout New England, whether that meant an excursion to the Vineyard or simply cruising Boston Harbor. They also relaxed many times in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Saint Thomas, one of their favorite destinations. Nita is survived by her children, Eric Boyer and his loving wife Sofia and their children Lance and Zachery, of Chestnut Hill, MA, and her daughter, Dr. Lisa Boyer and her husband Robert Miller and their children Pavel and Becca, of Loomis, CA.The grandchildren will dearly miss their Bubbie. Also surviving Nita are her sisters, Sandra Mills and her husband Laurence of Wellesley, MA, Peggy Gassman and her husband Andrew, of Needham, MA, and godson Edward Mills, of Sabastopol, CA. She is also survived by many  wonderful nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. During her stay in California, Nita was lovingly cared for by special companion Karin Heard, who Nita called her best friend. Max, Nita’s dog who was always at her side, will miss his master.

Nita was a lifetime member of Hadassah, Mizrachi and Hebrew Senior Life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA or to a charity of your choice.
