Ruth Doran Linsky

Linsky, Ruth Doran, 101, of Chestnut Hill. Beloved wife for 48 years of the late Harold M. Linsky. Born in Buffalo and lived in Boston for 77 years. Loved family, travel, playing bridge, reading, casino gambling, unsweetened ice tea and arguing about politics or almost anything else. Extraordinary and deeply treasured matriarch of an immediate and extended family that includes sons, Marty and Robert; daughters-in-law Helen, Lee and Lynn; grandchildren Alison, Sam, Marran, and Max; great-grandson Guy with another on the way; nieces and nephews Leslie, Lynne, Barby, Jimmie, Richard, Michael, Susie, David, the late Peter and their offspring; grandchildren’s spouses Richard, Meredith and LeAnna; step-great-grandson Chase; cousins Susie and Lisa; extended family including Steve, Kip and Max, Peter, Joyce and Kylie, and Meg, Jerry, and Kay; magnificent long-standing support team of John, Jeff, David and Amit. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1 at 1 PM at Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Road, Newton, Centre, followed by a private interment. Family will greet mourners and friends of Ruth following interment from 4 – 9 pm at Robert and Lee’s home.
