age 78, of Chestnut Hill passed away on March 7, 2015 after a courageous four-year battle with Alzheimer’s. For 59 years she was the beloved wife of Gilbert Chudnow. She was the dear daughter of the late Eugene and Gertrude Bennett, devoted mother of Mark Chudnow and Randi (Chudnow) Loeb, caring mother-in-law of Gina (Pena) Chudnow and Jeffrey Loeb, loving nana to Annie, Sara, Gabby, Aryn, Bess, and great –grandmother of Zachary and Isabella. Sandi was the loving sister of the late Esther (Bennett) Tuck.
Sandi was born in Boston and attended Memorial High School. She married “Gilly,” the love of her life in 1955 and together they built a home and a family in Newton.
After raising her family, Sandi started TableFashions, and for 20 years and with 25 employees became the doyenne of specialty linens in Massachusetts. She was a creative force and a pioneer in her industry. Her fabrics, imported from Europe and Asia, graced the tables each week at elegant events throughout the World.
Service to be held in the Chapel of Sharon Memorial Park, 43 Dedham St. Sharon Tuesday, March 10 at 2pm. Shiva observance will be at the home of Mark and Gina Chudnow following the service until 9pm continuing on Wednesday at the home of Randi and Jeff Loeb from 4-9pm. Remembrances in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
