Stephen M. Mindich, age 74, of Newton, Provincetown, and Boca Raton, FL, the founder of the Phoenix Media/Communications Group, passed away on May 23, 2018. Beloved husband to Judge Maria Lopez. Devoted father of Bradley Mindich and his wife Rachael. Dear brother of Bruce Mindich. Loving grandfather of Alex and Chip Mindich. Dear step-father of Michael Michaud; David Michaud and his wife Christen. Step-grandfather of Zachary, Lola and Michael Michaud.

Stephen’s extraordinary influence and impact is recognized locally, regionally, and nationally across media, the arts, politics, culture, technology, and social initiatives. He was tirelessly committed to excellence and creativity in all of his entrepreneurial endeavors, and equally as committed to free speech, social justice, and equality. Over his lifetime, his presence was often described and experienced as a force of nature, and he leaves a professional and personal legacy that is unmatched.

A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at the Pine Brook Country Club, 42 Newton St., Weston, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 4-7:30 pm. Donations in his memory may be made to the Anti-Defamation League, 40 Court St., #12, Boston, MA 02108.
