Age 57, of Chestnut Hill and Needham, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with melanoma on the night of May 27th. Stephen was a spirited, witty, and selfless person who could find joy in any situation. He made a positive impact on every person he came across, and truly personified what it means to be a mensch. He was born on February 8, 1959 to Charles and Carole (Berman) Silk in Boston. Stephen was the devoted dad of two remarkable young women, Atlee Goodwin Silk of Memphis and Kaitlyn Price Silk of Needham. Stephen also leaves his wife of 26 years, Melissa Goodwin Silk, three loving siblings: Ellen Silk of Sharon, Marc Silk of Medfield, and Kenneth Silk of Brookline. He was beloved by his nieces Camilla and Vera Silk, his nephews Michael Broder and Sam Silk and his sisters-in-law, Abby Gardiner Silk and Sandi Wolchansky Silk. The funeral will be held at Congregation Mishkan Tefila, 300 Hammond Pond Parkway, Chestnut Hill, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11:00 am, followed by memorial observance at his brother Kenneth’s home.
