Born in Brookline, David Brezniak is a fourth-generation funeral director whose great-grandfather Jacob H. Levine founded Levine Funeral Home in 1893 in the North End of Boston. David received his funeral director’s license in 1967 and served as Vice-President of Levine Chapel until 1989. He co-founded Brezniak-Rodman Funeral Directors with his late partner, George Rodman, in 1992. David has served in the Romney, Patrick, and Baker, and Healy administrations as Chairman of the State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, the first person of the Jewish faith to serve on that board. In 2018 he was appointed by Governor Charlie Baker to serve on the State Board of The Medical Examiners Office as well. In 2019 Brezniak-Rodman Funeral Directors became Brezniak Funeral Directors.
