Following high school, Charlotte went to Pembroke College at Brown University, where she sang in an a capella group, and from which she earned her Bachelors degree. She was a good skier (though a nervous lift user) and tennis player, and an avid traveler, visiting family in Switzerland, friends in the Caribbean and New Hampshire. She married Marshall Lebowitz, and together they moved to Natick in 1949.
