Myra Rose (Glogover) Trachtenberg

of Brookline, a retired Brookline town meeting member and Newton High School guidance counselor. Mrs. Trachtenberg, 86, died Saturday after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Trachtenberg worked for 26 years running the Newton (North) High School Career Guidance Resource Center, where thousands of students have been provided with information that assisted them in making informed decisions about their futures. The Career Center received national recognition and was renamed the Trachtenberg Career Center upon her retirement in 1994. Mrs. Trachtenberg also served on the Brookline town meeting for many years, starting in 1989. She was a tireless advocate for the Brookline community. Her many years of service were recognized by the Civic Recognition Award in 2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she graduated from the City College (Baruch College) of New York with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1950. She attended Boston University and received her master’s degree in Education in 1968. Mrs. Trachtenberg had served on the Brookline Advisory Committee and the Brookline Council for the Arts and Humanities. She had been a resident of both Newton and Brookline since 1963. Mrs. Trachtenberg was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Myron Trachtenberg; and leaves two sons and a daughter in law, Mark David Trachtenberg of Allston, MA and Alan Israel and Duchy Miriam Trachtenberg of North Bethesda, MD. Services at Cong. Kehillath Israel, 384 Harvard St., Brookline, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Wellwood Cemetery, West Babylon, N.Y.

Service at The Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Rd., Newton Centre (on the campus of Andover-Newton Theological School and Hebrew College), on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Due to the Rosh Hashanah holiday there will be no memorial observance. Interment private. Mark Yesley- of Newton and Stockbridge, MA, suddenly, on September 10, 2015. Beloved husband of Marlene (Oransky) Yesley. Devoted father of Ellen Silberman and her husband Joel, and Susan Yesley. Proud grandfather of Andrew, Benjamin, and Sloan Silberman, William, Ari, and Gabriel Awad. Loving brother of Louise Wasserberg and her husband, Dr. Ira, and Marjorie Yesley and her husband, Claude Dupuy. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Services at Temple Israel, 477 Longwood Ave., Boston 02215 (parking on the Riverway), on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at 10:00 am. Following interment at Baker Street, West Roxbury, memorial observance will be held at his residence until 4:30 pm Sunday and will continue Tuesday through Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers remembrances in his memory may be made to Temple Israel.

 Aaron L. Bluhm, PhD- of Canton, on September 6, 2015.Beloved and devoted husband of the late Evelyn (Cutler) Bluhm. Devoted father and best friend of Jerry Bluhm and his companion, Irene Sedlacko. Cherished grandfather of David and his wife Christie, Jonathan and his wife Kate, Alex and his fiancé Molly. Dear great grandfather of Noah, Ben, Max and Annie. Loving brother of the late Michael, Samuel, Joseph and Sidney. Aaron was a proud veteran of WW11, where, in the Battle of the Bulge, he lost his leg. Despite this handicap it never became a deterrent to accomplishing amazing goals. He was active in the New England Handicap Ski organization, where he taught countless amputees to ski. He rode in the Pan-Mass Challenge in his 80’s with his son. Aaron spent his entire career as an organic chemist with US Army Labs in Natick and was a member of the Top of the Hill Gang. Services at Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Rd., Newton Centre, MA (on the on the campus of Andover Theological School and Hebrew College), Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Baker St., West Roxbury.
