age 97, of Framingham, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his home. He survived his late wives Mary (Catalano) Serulneck, Irene (Blier) Serulneck, and Sylvia (Zimmerman) Serulneck.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 19, 1918, Mr. Serulneck retired to Framingham in 1983. He proudly served in Co M, 347^th Infantry Regiment, 87^th Infantry Division during WWII. He was a decorated combat veteran of the Ardennes, Central Europe, and the Rhineland. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star with “V” for valor recognizing his heroic achievement in action against an armed enemy of the United States near Brambach, Germany on March 25, 1945 and also received the Soldier’s Medal. Prior to his retirement he had careers in business and union organizing.

In Framingham Mr. Serulneck served as a Commander and Quartermaster of VFW Post 929, a member of the Board of Directors of SMOC, and volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels well into his late 80’s.

Mr. Serulneck is survived by his sons Lester Serulneck of Northport, NY, and Larry Serulneck of Viera, FL, and his daughter Fern Y. Serrell of Brooklyn, NY. He was the proud grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 11. He is also survived by his friend for life, Sarah Cammarata.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at Chabad Lubavitch Center, 159 Boden Lane, Natick on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in the Framingham-Natick Jewish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DAV or Cystic Fibrosis Association.

Eugene Maynard Freedman- formerly of Weston, MA, and Boca Raton, FL, died September 15, 2015 at Hebrew Senior Life in Boston, MA, surrounded by his beloved family. He was the devoted husband of Myrna (Herscot) Freedman for more than 50 years; the much loved father of Deborah Freedman Belt and Erik Paul Belt, Richard Andrew Freedman and Hope Ellen Rubin, Elizabeth Caryn Freedman and Robert Lyle Hammer, and adored grandfather of Halley Rose Belt, Olivia Danielle Belt, Emily Alyse Belt, Jason Henry Freedman, Dana Justine Freedman and Scarlett Dorothy Hammer. He was the son of the late Daniel and Eva Freedman, of Worcester, MA. Services at Temple Beth Elohim, 10 Bethel Rd., Wellesley, on Thursday, September  17, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Following interment at Beit Olam Cemetery, Wayland, memorial observance will be at the home of Debby and Erik Belt until  7:00 pm and will continue on Friday 1:00 -5:00 pm. beloved mother, wife and sister, passed away on September 14, 2015, three months after the passing of her devoted husband Al.  Belle had a full life, raising a family, working part time as a bookkeeper and growing to become Executive Director of Temple Emeth in Chestnut Hill.  She was a marvelous ballroom dancer who loved dancing with her beloved Al, her lifelong companion, married for 69 years.  Belle will be greatly missed by her son Neal (Suzanne), daughter Debbie (Bane), and grandchildren Jared, Ava, Ethan, Rex and Lauren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Al, daughter Jane, sisters Jeanne, Ida, Betty and brother Harvey.  Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2015  at The Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Road, Newton Center. Interment will follow in the Temple Emeth Memorial Park, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury.  Immediately following the interment, the family will receive visitors in the function room at 210 Nahanton Street, Newton Centre until 4:30 PM and from 6:30 – 8:30 PM.

of Stoughton, formerly of Randolph, on September 13, 2015. Born in Romania of parents immigrating to the United States in November, 1922. Lou was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School, served in the United States Army bakery corps in New Guinee during the Pacific conflict during the 2nd World War. Upon returning to the U.S., Lou met his bride of 67 yrs., Mildred (Dulman) Zeprun. Lou worked tirelessly alongside his brother Jack (deceased) and father Morris also deceased at the family bakery, The West End Bakery in Roxbury on Howard Avenue. In 1966, the brothers and their father moved their bakery to Randolph and renamed it Zeppy’s Baigel Bakery. Lou and Jack along with their wives Mildred and Doris built their successful business along with providing employment for hundreds of men and woman over the years in the community until his retirement in 2005. Lou was an avid golfer and was seen often around the links at Ponkapoag and Brookmeadow Country Club. Lou is survived by his loving wife Mildred (Dulman), his sister Ruth Tuler of West Roxbury and her husband Paul, his son Eliott and his wife Diane (St Germain) of Stoughton, his daughter Sheila Holland and her husband Michael of Brockton, and his daughter Renee Diauto and her husband Frank of St Cloud, FL. Lou is also the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren, Scott Zeprun, Risa (Zeprun) Morse of California , Roshanna Zeprun of Hawaii, Tracy (Diauto) Laberge of R.I., Melinda (Diauto) Barbosa of St Cloud, FL, Jesse Diauto of St Cloud, FL, Kimberly Holland of Brockton, and Jason Holland of Brockton. Lou is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by family friend Nancy Hampson of Stoughton. of Brookline, a retired Brookline town meeting member and Newton High School guidance counselor. Mrs. Trachtenberg, 86, died Saturday after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Trachtenberg worked for 26 years running the Newton (North) High School Career Guidance Resource Center, where thousands of students have been provided with information that assisted them in making informed decisions about their futures. The Career Center received national recognition and was renamed the Trachtenberg Career Center upon her retirement in 1994. Mrs. Trachtenberg also served on the Brookline town meeting for many years, starting in 1989. She was a tireless advocate for the Brookline community. Her many years of service were recognized by the Civic Recognition Award in 2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she graduated from the City College (Baruch College) of New York with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1950. She attended Boston University and received her master’s degree in Education in 1968. Mrs. Trachtenberg had served on the Brookline Advisory Committee and the Brookline Council for the Arts and Humanities. She had been a resident of both Newton and Brookline since 1963. Mrs. Trachtenberg was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Myron Trachtenberg; and leaves two sons and a daughter in law, Mark David Trachtenberg of Allston, MA and Alan Israel and Duchy Miriam Trachtenberg of North Bethesda, MD. Services at Cong. Kehillath Israel, 384 Harvard St., Brookline, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Wellwood Cemetery, West Babylon, N.Y.
