Loving grandfather of Nicolas, Emile, Zachary and Dani. Dear brother- in- law of the late Irwin Glazier and his surviving wife Renee. Loving uncle of Elise Savidge, June Mattioli, Robyn Hecht, Jocelyn, Jonathan, and Elizabeth Glazier. Co-owner of Mendelsohn’s of Waltham with his late sister Jeanne Rakusin. Services at The Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Rd., Newton, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 1:30 pm. Following interment at Beth El Cemetery, Baker St., West Roxbury, memorial observance will be at his residence until 8:00 pm Tuesday, and Wednesday 2-5 pm. Marjorie Sher

passed away April 14, 2015 at the age of 87, in Palm Coast, FL. For Marjie, her children and grandchildren were the focus of her life. She remained a devoted, fun-loving mother and grandmother always taking an active interest in their activities. Everyone called her “Grammy”. A graduate of Brookline High School and Endicott College, Marjie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Samuel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris and her daughter, Amy Sher. Surviving are her three children, Michael Sher, Joani McCullough and Linda Sher. Her two grandchildren, Amanda Paniagua and Chelsea Walter, and her brother, Joseph Samuel. Services at Temple Emeth Memorial Park, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury, Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 1 pm.

Bernice”Niecie” Manello

Bernice “Niecie”Manello, of Newton, died on April 14, 2015 at her home. She was the dear wife of Joseph B. Manello. Niecie worked as secretary in the medical field, first to the Chief of OB-GYN at Western Reserve Hospital in Cleveland, and then to two Chiefs of Medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, and finally to the Dean of the Harvard School of Public Health. In 1978 she enrolled as a Davis Scholar at Wellesley College and she received her B.A. in 1981. After graduating she trained in anatomy and exercise with Maggie Letwin and on Maggie’s retirement she took over the aerobic classes in the Physical Education department at MIT. A lover of tennis, she was a member of the Wightman Tennis Center for many years. In addtion to her husband she is survived by her sister, Charlotte Mador, and three nieces, Harriet Mador, Michelle Harnick, and Phyllis Scheff. Services will be at Temple Israel, 477 Longwood Ave., Boston (please park on the Riverway) on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1 p.m. Following  interment at Temple Israel Cemetery, Wakefield,  memorial observance will be  at her late home from 4-9 pm Thursday, and Friday 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in her and her husband’s name to Cardiac Research Fund, c/o Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital, 330 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02115.

Hana Krasa

Our family, friends, locally and abroad mourn the loss of Hana. She lost everything and everyone, except her brother, in the Holocaust.  Her answer to the genocide was to rebuild her family. After starting life over 3 times from nothing in  Czechoslovakia, Israel and the USA , she achieved, together with her husband of 65 years Edgar Krasa, all she could have dreamed of. With her boundless love, generosity, dedication, sacrifice and hard work, she built a wonderful life, home and family. She will be missed by her husband Edgar, sons and daughters in-law Daniel and Tatjana, Raphael and Debra, and her five grandchildren Rachel, Yonatan, Benyamin, Rebecca, Alex and many friends.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday April 16 at 10 AM at the Wilson Chapel at 234 Herrick Road, Newton Centre, MA 02459, followed by burial at King Solomon Cemetery at 2690 Centre St., W. Roxbury 02132.  Following the burial, Shiva will be at her residence until 4 PM  and will resume from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.  Saturday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and Sunday from 3 PM to 5 PM. Ernest L. Pearlman

Of Acton, formerly of Belmont, a proud WWII veteran and Purple Heart recipient, passed on April 13, 2015.  Loving and devoted husband of the late Alice (Schneider) Pearlman; cherished father of Marcy Rappaport and her husband Jeff of Acton; and  Howard Pearlman and his wife Virginia, of Hudson; Grandfather of Katie Poulin and Jeff Hatch, and to his “boyz”, Jazzy & Roxy (cats).

Ernest Lawrence Pearlman was born in Boston 94 years ago. He attended Northeastern University and worked in the family business, the Golden Dome Bottling Company.

Ernie joined the U.S. Army in October, 1942, achieving the rank of Corporal T5.  In WWII, he fought to liberate Europe, doing battle in Belgium, Czechoslovakia, England, France, Germany and Holland.  In July, 1944, he suffered serious shrapnel wounds during a night-time battle at Normandy and in August, he was awarded the Purple Heart while still confined to the hospital.  He returned to active duty with the 79th Division Ordinance Company until his discharge in October of 1945.  More recently, Ernie accompanied his young neighbor to the annual Veteran’s day programs at his school, where Ernie was saluted for his patriotic service to our country.

Ernie married his beloved late wife Alice on November 9,1948.  He owned two liquor stores in Roxbury and Newton Highlands, and later worked for Gordon’s in Waltham.  Since 1990, Ernie has called Acton his home, surrounded by his family and the very best friends and neighbors.

Ernie was the “Oracle” and maven of all things baseball.  From his childhood, he loved his Boston Red Sox and was especially proud of their World Championships in 2004, 2007 & 2013. Ernie was a 2-time visitor to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, and received standing ovations at Nashua Pride and New Hampshire Fishercat games in recognition of his baseball prowess and service to our country.

Services and burial  on Friday, April 17, 2015,at 11:45 am at Sharon Memorial Park,  Sharon, MA.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ernie’s remembrance to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway Street, Lowell, MA 01854. – lowellhumanesociety.org

Dear sister of the late Evelyn Feinberg. Hazel was a teacher and administrator in the Boston Public Schools for almost fifty years. Memorial observance will be held at Hazel’s residence, Chestnut Hill Towers, 250 Hammond Pond Pkwy, South Building, on Tuesday until 9 pm.
