Main St. Raynham, on Wednesday, September 7, at 9 a.m. Following the burial at St Joseph Cemetery, Taunton, a memorial observance will be held at St. Ann’s Parish Center until 1 p.m.. Memorial observances will also be held at his late residence on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm and Thursday, 6-8 pm. Former owner of Newfield Insurance Agency in Raynham for many years. He also founded Raynham Oil Change in Raynham. Marty was a member of the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Interscholastic Football Officials since 1972, Member and Past President of the Taunton Jaycees, Member of the Planning Board of Raynham, School building and Site committee in Raynham, and the Taunton Zoning Board of Appeals. He volunteered for SRPEDD and SCORE. In 2003 he received the Citizen of the Year Award from the Town of Raynham. He believed that service to humanity is the best work of life. Grandmother of Beth and Arnon Klein, Andrew and Hillary Mann, and Marjorie and Erissa. Great grandmother of Zachary and Jake Klein. Sister of Pauline Feinstein and her husband Elliott of Westport. KAROFSKY, Alfred 93, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Formerly of Newton, and Wayland, on September 3, 2011. He leaves his beloved wife of 71 years, Lorraine (Goldberg) Karofsky, three sons and daughters-in law, Lee and Linda Karofsky of West Palm Beach, FL; Harvey and Gale Karofsky of Palm Beach, FL; and Marc and Susan Karofsky of Wayland, MA. In addition, he leaves his grandchildren; Robin and Stephen Malasky, Eric and Kimberly Karofsky, Judd and Samantha Karofsky, Keri Glassman, Tracy and Matthew Shepard, and Lindsay and Dan Guttell, as well as his 10 great grandchildren; Hannah and Max Malasky, Matthew, Spencer, and Brooks Karofsky, Dylan, Ellie, and Alexandra Karofsky, Rex and Maizy Glassman. He was the brother of the late Mark and Sydney Karofsky. Al lettered in four sports at Brookline High School, and was an avid golfer, winning 6 consecutive club championships at New Seabury CC on Cape Cod. He was a member of Hickory Shafts, New England Senior Golf Association, and Past President of The Apparel Industry of New England. He was President and Founder, with his brother Mark, of Summit Sportwear Company, a manufacturer of ladies apparel. A graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon, on Wednesday September 7, 11:45 AM. Immediately following the burial, memorial observance will be at the Clubhouse at the Hills at Mainstone, 133 Hillside Drive, Wayland until 5:00 PM, and 7:00-9:00 PM. Thursday, 1:00-4:00PM.
