Barnett “Bill” Ullian of Tamarac, Florida, formerly of Newton, died peacefully after a long illness on April 10, Yom HaShoah –Holocaust Remembrance Day, at the age of 78. Bill was the devoted son of the late Theresa and Maurice Ullian. He worked alongside his father at Ullian Buick in Chelsea and later opened a second automobile dealership in Framingham. Loving father of Marjorie Sokoll and her husband Mark of Newton, Howard Ullian of Bangkok, and Nancy Salvin and her husband Ken of Framingham. Cherished grandfather of Talya and David Sokoll, and Jessica, Rebecca and Joey Salvin. He is also survived by his beloved companion of more than 18 years, Geraldine Kram of Tamarac, Florida. Dear brother of Barbara Lazarus (Ullian) formerly of Chestnut Hill and Lake Worth, Forida. Graveside services at Baker Street Cemetery in West Roxbury on Tuesday, April 13. Please gather at the Baker Street entrance of the cemetery by 1:45 pm. Keyfitz- Nathan at age 96 of Cambridge on April 6, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice (Orkin) Keyfitz. Devoted father of Barbara and Robert, grandfather of Benjamin, Elizabeth and Alexander, dear brother of Ruth Karp. Professor Keyfitz, born in Montreal, rose to the rank of Assistant Dominion Statistician in the Canadian civil service before beginning a distinguished academic career in 1961 which took him to the Universities of Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Berkeley, Ohio State and Harvard where he was Andelot Professor of Sociology and Demography and Chairman of the Departments of Sociology and Public Health. His pioneering work produced hundreds of books and articles in leading journals and developed the field of mathematical demography. Winner of numerous honorary awards and member of professional associations including the National Academy of Sciences, Royal Statistical Society, American Statistical Association, and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Services will be held at The Bigelow Chapel on the grounds of Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn St. Cambridge on Tuesday April 13, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
