He was a graduate of Northeastern University. Herman was a loyal hard working family man. Beloved husband of Arleen (Charnitsky) of 50 years. He worked for Ratheon Corp. as an accountant for 35 years and part time at the Boston Globe. Over the years he was an avid numismatist and philatelist who was affiliated with many such organizations in the Boston area. He was a natural at languages and enjoyed speaking Spanish as well as public speaking for the Toastmasters Club. Besides his wife, Arleen he leaves his daughters, Janet Weinstein and her husband Glenn of Weston and Sharon Yogel and her husband David of Weston; his grandchildren, Robin, Gordon, Jodie Weinstein and Ross and Jenna Yogel. Gerald Stuart Gershon passed away on December 30, 2008 at the age of 72. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 18, 1936 to Dave and Ann (nee Pohorille) Gershon. He attended Aitz Chaim Yeshiva and New Utricht High School before graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a leader in the newly emerging computer industry and received a commendation for his work on the Apollo II guidance systems. Jerry went on to work for many years in the electrical engineering profession and was instrumental in the development of complex defense systems and industrial computer systems. He developed close friendships with many of his colleges and kept those friendships his whole life. He was devoted to his Jewish faith and passed that onto his children and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Brenda ( Wolfe) Gershon . His kindness, sense of humor and generosity will be missed by his children Lisa (and Mitch) Covitz of Natick, MA, Steven (and Dr. Annie) Gershon of Hawthorne, NJ, Diana (and Dr. David) Erani of Houston, TX and Dave (and Jennifer) Gershon of Newton, MA.
