Lillian L. (Schein) Bayer, 73, wife of the late Louis R. Bayer, died peacefully in her sleep at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale on Tuesday morning, August 4, 2009, after a long illness. She was predeceased by her sister, Ethel Schein Buscemi, and her brothers, Henry and Leo Schein. Lillian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Richard Weldon of Taunton, her sons, Darryl Bayer of Houston, and Stephen Bayer of San Francisco, and her grandchildren, Erik, Valerie, and Lynn Weldon. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Maniloff, her brothers, Arnold, Eddie, Harold, and Irving Schein, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Congregation Agudath Achim on Thursday, August 6th at 12:30 p.m. and burial will be at Mount Nebo Cemetery on Glebe St. in Taunton. Shiva services will be held Thursday, 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Miles Standish Industrial Park in Taunton, and at the Taunton home of Joanne Weldon on Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m. Visitors are also welcome at the home of Joanne Weldon on Sunday and Monday between 12 – 2 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. both days. A graduate of Brookline, H.S. and The Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, where she became a silver-smith. She was well known for her Sterling Silver Jewelry, which she continued making until her permanent move to Florida in 1993. She married her husband of 64yrs. Ensign Harris Baum Libby in 1941. She was active in many Jewish organizations including helping to settle Israeli students who came to M.I.T. to further their graduate educations. An advid golfer and longtime member of Spring Valley C.C.in Sharon, MA. Her competitive spirit helped her to win many trophies. She played golf until December 2008, and was still winning prizes. She was also a regular bridge player with her friends at The Golf & Racquet Club at Eastpointe in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She leaves behind her 3 beloved children, Bob Libby and his wife Carla of Delray Beach, FL, Bette Ann Libby and her husband David Begelfer of Brookline, & Pat Libby and her husband Michael Eichler of San Diego,CA, and 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey Libby and his wife Jayna Walters, Noah Budnick and his wife Amanda Hickman, and Jesse Libby Begelfer, of whom she was so proud. TOBMAN, Elka H. (Goldberg) Of Randolph, 72. Beloved wife, mother, aunt, cousin and friend passed away on June 16th of Cancer. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Frederick M. Tobman of Randolph, son Alan Tobman of Philadelphia and daughter Jodi Tobman and her husband Irwin Hagedoorn of Aruba. Elka was the daughter of the late Rose and Sam Goldberg of Holbrook and the sister of the late Leon Goldberg of Framingham. A graduate of Fisher Junior College Elka spent more than 20 years working at Sealy Mattress in Randolph. She leaves behind treasured nieces, nephews and other family members who loved her dearly along with many cherished friends. Funeral services at Temple Beth Am, 871 North Main St, Randolph on Thursday June 18 at 11 am. Memorial observance will be held at her late residence on Thursday until 9pm, Friday from 1-5pm, Saturday evening, Sunday 1-9pm. George of Weston, formerly of Brookline on June 6, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Miriam (Mason) Oshry for 68 years. Devoted father of Jeanne and Jerry Ashworth of Cape Neddick, ME, Richard Oshry of Brighton, and Deborah and Howard Herzog of Belmont. Loving grandfather of Jeffrey and Robert Ashworth, and Annie, Emily, and Kate Herzog. Cherished great-grandfather of Benjamin, Esme, Taylor, and Riley. Loving brother of Sally Adelson and the late Harold Oshry. George Was by all accounts, a man of integrity and often referred to as “a real gentleman” He graduated Harvard University class of 1938 where he also went on to receive a master’s degree in metallurgy. During World War II he worked at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland where one of his jobs was x-raying defective ammunition. He was the president of General Metals Company. George enjoyed many summers with his family in Ogunquit, ME. He was a lifelong and active member of Temple Ohabei Shalom. Graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 11:45 am, followed by a celebration of his life at Norumbega Point Assisted Living in Weston. Doris leaves her loving husband of 65 years, Irving, her two children, Beverlee Seronick Barnes and Peter Seronick, their respective spouses, Glenn and Loraine and the four jewels of her life, her grandchildren, Stacey, Andrew, Ariana and Liza. In Doris’s own words she lived a long,healthy,happy life and felt her impending death was not cutting her life short, but simply just ending it, and she was at total peace with that.
