(Nugent) Santos. Devoted mother of Jason and Hayley Fishman. Loving sister of Mary DelloRusso and her husband Arthur, Arthur Santos and his wife Kim, and the late Dianne O’Leary and her husband Richard. Raised in Medford and a longtime resident of Lexington, Nancy was an incredibly dedicated and nurturing mother, an adored wife and loyal partner in life, and a generous and caring sister, aunt and friend. She was known as Wonder Woman to many for her courage and will during her long and inspirational battle against cancer. Services at Temple Isaiah, 55 Lincoln St., Lexington, MA on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Following interment at Westview cemetery, Lexington, MA, memorial observance will be at the Fishman residence until 9 pm, and will continue Wed and Thurs, 1-4 & 7-9 pm. Carole (Gold) Calo, PhD
WORCESTER – Carole (Gold) Calo, PhD, age 63 of 40 High St., Sharon died on Saturday, Feb. 9th in Beth Israel Deaconness Hospital in Boston.
She leaves her husband, Andrew Calo; two sons, Nicholas Calo and Brett Calo of Sharon; a sister, Betty Ann Reck-Caputo wife of Anthony Caputo of Shrewsbury; a nephew, Andrew Reck of Wayland. She was predeceased by her nephew, Joshua Reck.
She was born in Worcester and was a daughter of Ben and Helen (Dentch) Gold and had lived in Sharon for many years.
She was a professor in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Stonehill College in Easton for 22 years and had been The Chairman of this department for over 20 years.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH IN THE MARTIN INSTITUTE OF STONEHILL COLLEGE, 320 WASHINGTON ST., NORTH EASTON, MA UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF BREZNIAK- RODMAN CHAPEL OF NEWTON.

Goldberg-Edward, of Braintree MA, formerly of Waterville ME, passed away on February 3, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Gloria (Liberty) Goldberg. Devoted father of Rhonda, Steven and his wife Beth, Marilyn Brabants and her husband John, and the late Scott Goldberg. Proud grandfather of Joshua, Sarah, and Benjamin Daniels. Blessed great grandfather of Julia Ferry and Samuel Daniels. Loving brother of the late Geraldine Bloom, Loretta Liber, and Maurice Goldberg. Edward was a 1942 graduate of Waterville high school, where he lettered in football, basketball, and track. He was a 1950 graduate of U. Maine Orono. Ed was in the army air corps, proudly serving from 1943 through 1946 both in Japan and the Philippines. Ed later moved back to MA, to be near his children. He moved into Sunrise Assisted Living, in Braintree, MA where found a new loving family surrounding him. Ed was known as the “mayor” of sunrise and cherished by all whose lives he touched. Sandy L. Weill of Bolton and formerly of Framingham, passed away February 3, 2013. She was 58 years old. Sandy grew up in Coney Island, Brooklyn and although spent most of her adult life in Massachusetts, always considered herself a New Yorker. From her love of the ocean to a good game of Skee-Ball, Sandy never lost her passion for a good time. The arts played a vital role in her life. A taste for Motown and hard rock developed into a love of disco while childhood art classes grew into a passion for painting and a lifelong creative outlet. Two of Sandy’s greatest influences were her father, Walter, from whom she inherited her contagious personality and passion for fine dining, travel and entertainment and her grandmother, Rose, whose love and attention served as the basis for her future parenting. Sandy received her B.A. from York College in Queens, NY and her Masters in Psychology from Suffolk University. She became a social worker and supervisor for the Department of Mental Health and later started a private practice in psychotherapy. In 1991, after the birth of her son, Steven, Sandy began a highly successful new career in sales and program management for high-powered I.T. companies. From developing the Computerworld Honors Program to becoming Senior Director of Executive Programs at IDG, Sandy had a fervent work ethic, exceeding goals and holding multiple sales records at the company to this day. She was held in high regard amongst her co-workers as not only talented and levelheaded but warm and engaging with a great sense of humor. The highlight and most important role in Sandy’s life was being a mother to her son, Steven, whom she loved dearly and was extremely devoted. They enjoyed a multitude of activities together but her love of music, the arts and food are what translated most. Sandy was also adored by her niece, Jill, who admiredher strength, ambition, wit and individuality and who always felt proud to call her “Aunt”. She touched many people’s lives with her care, compassion and innate ability to selflessly lend her ear and empathize with those around her. She faced her diagnosis of recurrent breast cancer with remarkable courage and handled her illness as she handled life— with continued resolve and a smile on her face. Sandy will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, sense of humor and caring that she imparted on the many who called her a friend. Daughter of the late Walter and Marsha (Cohen) Weill, she is survived by her beloved son, Steven Borden-Weill and his girlfriend, Michelle Gibbons; sister, Felice Schweitzer; loving niece, Jill Schweitzer and her husband, Tom Donahue; cousin Barry Cohen, his wife, Debbie and their children, Ariana and Myles; cousin, Kenny Cohen, his wife, Tiffany and their daughter, Rylee and countless, devoted friends. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 6th, 11:00AM, in the chapel at the Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove St, Framingham. Interment will follow. Stern- Sylvia (Chuker), deeply loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away on February 1, 2013 in Palm Beach, FL, just shy of her 98th birthday. She was born in MA and lived for many years as a snow bird, spending winters in Palm Beach and summers in Massachusetts. She moved to Palm Beach permanently 15 years ago. She was well known for never having idle hands. She loved creating papier tole pictures, knitting, needle point, playing cards and mahjong. She was devoted to her family. Sylvia was preceeded in death by her son Burton and her husband, Dr. Arthur Stern. She is survived by her loving children Patricia Mariasch (Mario) of CA, Ellen Winner (Bob) of MA and her adored grandchildren, Melissa Fossum (Justin), Gabriel Mariasch, Tracey Winner (Russ Thomas) and Shaun Winner (Emily). She was also the proud great grandmother of Nathan Winner and Sophie Thomas. Sylvia will be sadly missed by her many friends and all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing. Dorothy Bernstein, 92 of Dedham MA, formerly of Brookline, after a short illness on January 28, beloved sister of the late Selma Rosen, cherished aunt of Richard A. Rosen and his wife Jo-Ann of Needham and the late Gail A. Rios. Loving great aunt of Andrea E. Rosen of Jamaica Plain, Benjamin J. Rosen and his wife Michele of Natick, and Dr. Clifford G. Rios and his wife Vanessa of CT, great, great aunt of Nathan John Rosen.Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing, then served as a First Lieutenant in the Army during WWII in Europe. She earned a BS in Nursing degree in 1953 and a MS in Nursing degree in 1972 both at Boston University.
