Rosalie Ross

Rosalie Klein Ross WORCESTER- Rosalie Klein Ross died on Wednesday, Dec. 12th at the Jewish Healthcare Center. She was the daughter of Maurice and Chandel Herman Klein and was born on April 4, 1918 in Worcester. She was a graduate of Classical High School. As a young woman Rosalie was a professional violinist with Ada Leonard’s all girl orchestra in California. She also lived in New York City for many years before returning to Worcester. Her parents, her husband Ralph and her daughter Cynthia Bender preceded her in death. She is survived by her first cousins: Gordon Adelson of Pittsfield, MA, Harriet Adelson of New York City, and Gloria Resnick of San Pedro, CA. The family thanks Elaine Kapperman, David Frazier, Brenda Cofske, Nancy Denitti, Marrianne Reil, Brenda Langanelli and the staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center for caring for Rosalie and being her friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, The Jewish Family Service of Worcester or a charity of your choice . Karen R. (Dorfman)Dentz Of Ashland, on Sunday, Dec. 9th. Beloved wife of the late David J. Dentz. Devoted mother of Rachel, wife of Mark Zides of Southborough and Sarah Dentz of Chicago. Beloved sister of John Dorfman of Slingerlands, NY and Richard Dorfman of Ocean City, NJ. Beloved companion of Jay Leib of Longmeadow, MA. Cherished grandmother of Zachary, Halle and Keira Zides. She received a lot of pride as a social worker in the various settings that she worked. Her grandchildren were a great source of joy. Visiting hours will be held 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 11th in the Brezniak Rodman Funeral Home, 1251 Washington St., NEWTON. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Weds., Dec. 12th in Congregation B’Nai Shalom, 117 East Main St., Westborough. Memorial observance will be held from 2pm-6pm at the residence of Mark and Rachel Zides at 17 Skylar Dr., Southborough. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215 in support of ovarian cancer research.

SEIFER – JOEL D., 88, suddenly on December 6, of North Falmouth, MA and Highland Beach, FL, formerly of Newton, MA. Beloved husband of Blanche Seifer. Devoted father of Ronda Seifer Walis, Donna Seifer Schletter and her husband Stephen, and Alan Seifer and his wife, Amy. Adored grandfather of Mandy, Brooke and Becca Walis, Jamie and Jackie Schletter, and Benjamin and Jonah Seifer. Beloved son of the late Abraham and Minnie Seifer, and loving brother of the late Matthew, Jack and Charlotte (Arkie) Seifer.

Joe was a proud veteran of World War II and participated in the D-Day landing in Normandy. He founded United Builders Supply Company in Framingham in 1952, a business he ran with his children for many years.

Joe and his wife are the benefactors of the Seifer Women’s Health and Imaging Center at Falmouth Hospital and are benefactors of the Falmouth Jewish Congregation Endowment Fund. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary surrounded by their family.

Joe lived an incredibly full life, enriched by the love of family, friends, philanthropy, and great food and wine. His loyalty, devotion and generosity to everyone were unmatched.

Services at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9th at Congregation Mishkan Tefila, 300 Hammond Pond Parkway, Chestnut Hill.

Following the interment at Baker Street, West Roxbury, memorial observance will be at the home of Donna and Stephen Schletter in Framingham on Sunday until 9pm and continuing Monday and Tuesday at his residence in North Falmouth.

Tamotsu “Tommy” Yamamoto

Tamotsu Yamamoto – “Tommy” of Boston MA, died Sunday December 2, 2012 at The Stanley R. Tippett Home in Needham after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Kyoto, Japan on January 28, 1946, to Qh & Koman Yamamoto. Tommy is survived by an extended family throughout the world.
Professor Yamamoto graduated from Kyoto City University of Fine Arts with a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts Degrees. He was affiliated with the Center for Advanced Visual Studies at MIT and studied architecture at Boston Architectural College. In 1976, he graduated from the postgraduate program of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Tommy was a world-renowned architectural illustrator. Since 1979, he taught in the School of Design at Mount Ida College, in Newton MA. He also taught at colleges including Boston Architectural College, Mass College of Art & Design, Wentworth Institute of Technology, New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University, and University of Idaho as a guest professor for their summer school in Europe. Professor Yamamoto maintained a private practice as a design consultant for architects, developers, and interior designers serving local and international clients since 1976.
Friends and colleagues are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, December 7 from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. in the Newton Cemetery Chapel, 791 Walnut St., Newton. A reception will follow at Mount Ida College, 777 Dedham St., Newton Centre. Those who wish may contribute to the Tamotsu Yamamoto Scholarship at Mount Ida College. The Tamotsu Yamamoto Scholarship was established in 1999. It is awarded annually to the outstanding junior who demonstrates strong potential in interior design.
