Licker-Susan D. (Casson) of North Easton, on December 18, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Michael L. Licker. Dear daughter of the late Louis and Bea Casson. Devoted mother of Douglas Licker and his wife Dulce, Craig Licker, Karen Licker and Alison Licker. Dear grandmother of Michael, Jacob, Logan, Jennifer, Jason and Shaina. Professor Barrie Westerman, of Framingham State University, on December 17, 2012. Age 70. Professor Westerman was born in Boston, MA. He received his PhD from Boston University. For over 40 years, he was a Professor of Psychology at Framingham State University. He leaves his loving significant other, Sharon Swartz and her daughter, Fonda Swartz and Granddaughter, Kaya Decker. He was the dear cousin of Barbara and Kenneth Schwab, Evelyn and Neil Schiffman, Reid and Audrey Lohr and his close friends, Leonard and Margaret Flynn. Rayna Marcus WORCESTER- Rayna Marcus, age 70, died at her residence on Tuesday December 18th. She leaves her cousins, Susan wife of Richard Gotz of Boston and Louise Levin of Connecticut. She was born in Hartford, CT and was the daughter of Morris and Helene (Snieder-man) Marcus and lived here over 40 years. Ruth (Gurwitz) Dorfman, died peacefully on Fri, Dec. 14th after a long battle with Merkel cell carcinoma. Born on April 26, 1921 in Brookfield, MA, Ruth spent a lifetime nursing and nurturing people and plants. She was truly a working woman: nurse, policewoman, hospital administrator, wife and mother. Private services were held on December 16th. She was predeceased by her husband, Phil, and is survived by her 2 sons, Mark and Dana. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Wendy, and a granddaughter, Molly, and her nieces, Karen, Paula and Betty. Donations in her name can be made to the de Rahm Hospice, 65 Chilton St, Cambridge, MA 02138, in gratitude of the loving care they provided Ruth.

Barbara (Kessler) Manne WORCESTER- Barbara (Kessler) Manne, 76, died on Friday, December 14th in Eisenberg Assisted Living Residence after an illness. She was born in Worcester and was a daughter of Saul and Sadie (Hass) Kessler. Her husband, Rubin Manne, died many years ago. She leaves two sisters, Gladys wife of Murry Rudnick of Worcester, and Claire Harfield of Southboro. She was predeceased by her brother, Sidney Kessler and her sister, Ruth Steinberg. David Kaplan-Of Ashland, on Wednesday, December 12. Beloved husband of Carol (Shapiro) Kaplan. Devoted father of Michael Kaplan and his wife Laura of Calabasas, CA, and Paul Kaplan and his wife Dana of Sherman Oaks, CA. Beloved brother of Sol Kaplan of Sarasota, FL, and the late Harold Kaplan. Cherished grandfather of William, Henry, Katherine, Sophie, and Grant Kaplan. He was a Professor of Anthropology at Brandeis University for 36 years. He was Chairman of the Anthropology Dept. and was Dean of the graduate school. Funeral Services will be held at 12 o’clock noon, today, Friday, December 14 in Congregation Temple Or Atid, 97 Concord Rd., Wayland. Burial will be in Beit Olam East Cemetery in Wayland. Memorial observance will be held from 2 pm. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 16th and on Monday, December 17th at his residence. Rosalie Klein Ross WORCESTER- Rosalie Klein Ross died on Wednesday, Dec. 12th at the Jewish Healthcare Center. She was the daughter of Maurice and Chandel Herman Klein and was born on April 4, 1918 in Worcester. She was a graduate of Classical High School. As a young woman Rosalie was a professional violinist with Ada Leonard’s all girl orchestra in California. She also lived in New York City for many years before returning to Worcester. Her parents, her husband Ralph and her daughter Cynthia Bender preceded her in death. She is survived by her first cousins: Gordon Adelson of Pittsfield, MA, Harriet Adelson of New York City, and Gloria Resnick of San Pedro, CA. The family thanks Elaine Kapperman, David Frazier, Brenda Cofske, Nancy Denitti, Marrianne Reil, Brenda Langanelli and the staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center for caring for Rosalie and being her friends.
