Loretta “Libby” (Ross)Wolff  Of Delray Beach FL, formerly of Sharon, on January 15, 2011. Beloved wife of Harvey Wolff. Devoted mother of Michael Wolff, Lori Myers and her husband Harry and Randi Strachman and her husband Paul. Cherished grandmother of Danielle, Samantha, Erika, David and Sydney. Loving sister of Alan Ross. Services at Temple Israel, 125 Pond St., Sharon on Wednesday, January 19 at 12 noon. Hyman Fishman

Hyman Fishman, age 91, died on January 15, 2011 at Baypointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Esther F. (Borstell) for 64 years.

Born in Maynard, MA, a son of the late Henry and Mary Fishman, Mr. Fishman had lived in Brockton for 53 years. As a boy Hyman was a Boy Scout and became an Eagle Scout. He served as a  1st Lieutenant in WWll. He later worked for many years at the Boston Naval Shipyard as a liaison between ship and shore, retiring in 1988. He is the father of Lana and Robert Preston, Robert and Judith Fishman, MaryEllen Briggs of Brockton, Widow of the late Charles Briggs. He was the loving grandfather to Carl and Mary Preston, Rachel and Theodore Law Jr.,Jennifer and Richard Perez,Emily Fishman,Tim Briggs and Adam and Jenifer Briggs. Great Grandfather of 8 and Godfather to William Fishman. He is survived by his sisters Sarah Fine of Hull, and Sylvia Katler of Randolph, and his brother Milton and wife Rosalie of Hull. He was also the brother to the late Abraham, Eva, Dora, Reuben and Philip Fishman. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Temple Beth Emunah, Pearl Street, Brockton on Monday, January 17 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Ohavei Sedeck Cemetery, Grove Street, West Roxbury. Shiva will be held at the home of Robert and Judith Fishman.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Old Colony Y, David Louison Center, 137 Newbury Street, Brockton, MA  02301 or to Temple Beth Emunah, C/O Youth Programing, 479 Pearl St. Brockton, MA  02301.

Howard Jason Hartman

HARTMAN, Howard Jason Of Randolph, MA, died January 9th after a sudden illness. Jason was a Neurophysiology Technologist for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Holloway; his parents, Lawrence and Shirley Hartman; and two brothers, Daniel and Edward Hartman. Jason was a graduate of New England Conservatory and a lover of music and visual art. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Avery Barbara (Ufland) Douglas 85, formerly of Newton Mass entered into rest on   January 12,  2011 she was a resident of the Newton Wellesley Alzheimer’s Center in Wellesley Massachusetts.

Mrs. Douglas was born in Boston to Emanuel “Bob” and Anne (Rosenberg) Ufland. She was the wife of the late Samuel Douglas, her loving husband of 52 years.  She was the sister of the late Lorraine Rabinovitz, a younger sister Phyllis Rotman and an older brother Maurice Ufland.

She leaves her daughters Miriam N. Douglas of Newton and Mindy and her husband David J. Coffey of Natick and loving grandson Louis Douglas; her sister Marcia (Ufland) Alper of Pasadena, California and many nieces and nephews
She attended Jerimiah E. Burke High School in Boston, Mass. and continued her education at Northeastern University. She had her own business for many years.

She enjoyed cooking and entertaining with her family and friends. She also loved music and gardening. .Active for many years at Temple Emanuel and the Mayflower chapter of Bnai Brith, she received the Light of Torah award and numerous citations, a graduate of the Me’ah program. She was a volunteer at the Fernald School and the Mass Association for the Blind. She loved to read and further her knowledge of religion and life.

Aron Lieb

January 10, 2011

Aron -Lieb- age  91, survivor of Auschwitz, died Sunday at Hebrew Senior Life in Roslindale. He formerly lived in Boston, Randolph and Sharon. Mr. Lieb grew up in Zychlin, Poland. He was taken from the Zychlin ghetto in 1941 and spent the rest of the war as a slave laborer and prisoner at numerous concentration camps. He was liberated in 1945 and came to America in 1949. He worked as a counterman at the G & G Deli and other Boston area restaurants.

He was predeceased by his wife Bernice Lieb, and by his parents and four siblings who perished at Chelmno in 1942.

He is survived by brother Bill Libfrajnd, longtime companion Nerry Berman, devoted aide Cynthia Joseph and loving friend Susan Kushner Resnick.
